Club 27 Kids Academics (1st–2nd Grade) is an engaging one-hour enrichment class designed to strengthen foundational skills in Language Arts and Math through interactive, age-appropriate learning. Students will enjoy read-alouds and guided reading activities featuring a variety of genres and subjects, while building reading comprehension and vocabulary. Math instruction includes hands-on practice, skill-building activities, and reinforcement of key grade-level concepts. This supportive and encouraging class helps students grow in confidence, critical thinking, and academic readiness while making learning fun and engaging.

  • Dates: Wednesdays, September 3 - June 3

  • Class Size: 5 student minimum

About the Instructor

Tim McClure has lived in the Antelope Valley since 1988. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, where he earned his B.A. in Education, and Chapman University, where he earned his M.A. in Education. Tim began his career teaching 6th grade at a private school, and after two years he moved on to teach 4th grade for 26 years at Sundown Elementary School in the Westside District. He has also enjoyed working with all grade levels as charter school teacher for 18 years. Tim and his wife homeschooled their four children and have a great love for the homeschool community!
