Students will participate in a structured running class designed to build fitness, confidence, and lifelong healthy exercise habits. Under the guidance of experienced and supportive coaches, students will learn proper warm-up techniques, dynamic and static stretching, injury prevention strategies, efficient running form, pacing, and age-appropriate training methods.
Throughout the year, this class focuses on developing endurance, speed, coordination, and overall athletic performance through purposeful workouts and individualized coaching. Students will gain an understanding of why different types of training are used and how they contribute to improved fitness and running efficiency.
During the cross country season, students may choose to apply the skills learned in class by participating in local youth running events and races. These opportunities allow students to practice goal setting, build confidence, and experience personal growth in a positive and encouraging environment. The class emphasizes personal improvement, fitness education, sportsmanship, and enjoying an active lifestyle while supporting students of all ability levels.
